Every year, our Hanford Operations office sponsors employee participation in local community fundraisers, projects, and programs.
Our employees
- walk for healthier babies (Walk America),
- build homes for disadvantaged families (Habitat for Humanity), and
- erect playgrounds for our youth (Playground of Dreams).
We are teachers, athletes, construction workers, science fair judges, donation collectors, and mentors.
We are committed to building a promising future with our local community.
Here is a list of some of the programs we have sponsored:
Community Outreach |
United Way |
Our per capita contributions ranked higher than the average for the top 10 companies and other enterprise companies for this area. |
Junior Achievement (JA) |
We make contributions to and sponsor employees for the JA program. JA prepares our youth to succeed in our global economy through a business/education partnership. |
Mid-Columbia Science Fair (MCSF) |
AREVA NC Inc. has donated funds, and our employees have served as judges and coordinators for the MCSF, the regional entry point for the International Science Fair system. MCSF receives about 400 entries each year from schools throughout Central Washington. |
Mid-Columbia Symphony |
We sponsor the Mid-Columbia Symphony. For the past 52 years, the Mid-Columbia Symphony has provided music, entertainment, and youth education to the local area. |
Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family |
This program is one that receives the least support every year – that’s why we chose it. One year, over 750 low-income families applied for the program; about 125 were adopted. Our employees collect money, food, toys, and clothing for the program. |
Habitat for Humanity |
We sponsor work days, donate funds, and provides gifts in kind. Habitat for Humanity benefits our community by cost effectively building and rehabilitating houses for and with low-income families. |
Richland Education Foundation |
AREVA NC Inc. has sponsored employees to play at the annual scholarship golf tournament for the Foundation, which supports literacy, science, math, and other projects that benefit the Richland School District. |
Children's Center |
To help raise money for the building of the Children's Center, several of our employees volunteered to contribute one hour of their wages. |
Tri-Cities Corporate Council for the Arts |
COGEMA Engineering has donated funds for the Tri-City Corporate Council for the Arts. |
